THE TAVERN

Located in the heart of Thailand’s urban tourist district, The Tavern offers a cozy American pub experience. We may be small but we attract an eclectic group of customers including expatriates, businessmen and tourists. The Tavern’s walls are filled with memorabilia including baseball cards, posters, license plates and flags. In addition we have a continuous slide show with over 6,000 pictures of Americana, cartoons, jokes and sexy women to keep your eyes busy when you are not conversing with our friendly and knowledgeable staff. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served from opening at 7 AM throughout the day until closing at 1 AM. The Bangkok Post and The Nation newspapers are delivered every morning for your reading pleasure.

The Tavern is surrounded by a plethora of hotels and guesthouses with prices ranging from 15 USD to 150 USD, all within walking distance. Our staff is always available to steer you to the lodging you desire. In fact, many of our customers come directly to The Tavern from the airport, drop their bags, have a few “cold ones,” and then trek off to find accommodations. For the newbies to the area, there are always a few “old hands” around the bar to lend a bit of advice about the country, the pitfalls, and the wondrous experiences to be had when visiting the Land of Smiles.

The unique grill serves up a surprisingly wide range of fare for the hungry traveler. Breakfast includes both ala carte and set meal pricing. Eggs, toast, pancakes, French toast, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, and a variety of juices, coffee, and tea are all available throughout the day and night. The grill built specially for The Tavern is half gas and half charcoal. The local hardwood charcoal gives the meat a special smoked flavor and produces burgers which many locals call the “best burger in Bangkok.” Sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, fries and wings are on the menu. Favorites among the regular crowd are the chili and the Buffalo wings. The Texas style chili is homemade from fresh ground beef, beans, onions and imported spices and is served with Tabasco and Wolf Sauce on the side for those who like it on fire! Our Buffalo wings are made from the original recipe created by the Anchor Bar in upstate New York.

Music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s is The Tavern’s signature playlist. The volume is mid level which allows comfortable conversation with our staff as well as the colorful array of customers. You can choose from a variety of ice cold beers, highballs, cocktails and wine while enjoying the clean and cool atmosphere. Come and chill out at……..
