THE TAVERN

JULY 4th,  2009

      Although most July 4th parties in Bangkok are in competition with the celebration hosted by the US Embassy, The Tavern was sold out from before noon until closing at 2 AM.  The barbecue was going full blast during the entire time, and we went through over 150 pounds of meat including ribs, beef kebabs, marinated chicken breast, as well as shrimp cocktail and giant  prawns on the barbecue.  The bell rang too many times to count and once again, The Tavern hosted a night to remember!

Three Year Anniversary Party

It's hard to believe that three years have gone by since the original purchase of the Roo Bar, and it's conversion to The Tavern. We've built up a regular clientele which has certainly contributed to our financial stability during the recent downturn in tourism as well as the global recession. Our three year milestone marks the beginning of our next three year lease term and with any luck, we'll make it three more and then some.   Food similar to the July 4th party was on the grill for most of the afternoon and evening, and more than a few bottles of our black Sambuca were consumed. 

Many of our old "alumni" employees came for the festivities.  High employee turnover seems to be one of the curses of the bar business; especially when the girls are as charming as ours. More often than not they get married off and travel to the far reaches of the globe to make a new life for themselves. We all wish them the best of luck in love and life!
